We are pleased to introduce the Sony UP-897MD Analog Monochrome A6 Medical Grade Printer with a BNC interface. Sony's smallest ultrasound printers ever, the UP-897 models measure only approximately 6 inches wide x 3 ½ inches high x 9 ½ inches deep.

The Sony UP-897MD series printers feature a new user-friendly front-panel functionality. A jog dial enables the user to easily scroll through menu functions, and the printers' memory has been increased to 10 MB to accommodate higher volumes. A "resize-to-fit" feature allows the end user to enlarge an image to the desired size.

he Sony UP-897MD black and white video graphic printer is designed specifically for use with medical diagnostic equipment, such as ultrasound systems. The Sony UP-897MD packs power in a small chassis. High quality, photo-like prints are output in just approximately 2.0 seconds. The Sony UP-897MD is extremely small and light weight. The UP-970AD, the successor to the UP-960, is designed to handle both analog and digital signal input. It is ideal for medical applications such as C-arm and ultrasound.

Accepting both analogue and digital signal input
The UP-970AD/990AD can receive both analog and digital signals, which allows it to support both types of C-arm system. This makes it ideal for today's transitional stage from analog to digital C-arm applications.

Superb print quality
Incorporating Sony direct thermal-printing technology, the UP-970AD/990AD provides photo-like prints with a high resolution of approximately 325 dpi, which is double the density of predecessor models, UP-960/980.

High-speed printing
The UP-970AD/990AD offers an impressive printing time of approximately 8 seconds per page, making it ideal for time-critical medical applications.

Compact design
The UP-970AD/990AD has a compact design with dimensions of approximately 316 (W) x 132.5 (H) x 305 (D) mm (12 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 12 1/8 inches), which is exactly the same size as predecessor models. This compact body enables it to fit easily into mobile C-arm carts.

Automatic detection of paper or film
In case a user inserts film to the printer but the menu setting is paper, an error message will appear on the LCD panel to remind the user to apply the appropriate kind of media.

Blue transparent film
With the UP-990AD, images can also be printed on blue transparent film, which can then be used as reference images for the diagnostics.

Automatic media-cutting function
When printing has finished on the UP-990AD, the printed paper or film is automatically cut by the media-cutting function.

Multiple print modes
As well as printing out a single image, the UP-970AD/990AD can also provide two, four, and six split images in one sheet.

UP-25MD

The UP-25MD is a high quality printer designed for medical applications. It features a variety of analogue video inputs for standard definition as well as high definition signals and is compatible with a wide range of medical imaging devices.

The printer's photo-quality dye sublimation technology ensures that prints are durable and long-lasting. It is compatible with our traditional UPC-21S/L media series and the self-laminating media UPC-24SA/LA. It seals and protects printed images against environmental hazards. Colours can be adjusted using RGB or HSV colour spaces to match monitor output and to optimise colour reproduction accuracy.

Dye Sublimation printing
Dye Sublimation printing is an ideal technology for making high quality, accurate photographic prints. The richly saturated images created by this printer are extremely stable and have a very long life-time: ideal for archiving with surgical reports.

Analogue inputs
The UP-25MD accepts analogue signals from a very wide range of medical equipment. A choice of Composite, S-Video and Component (SD and HD) inputs provides a high degree of compatibility with medical imaging devices.

Choice of self-laminating and standard media
The UP-25MD accepts two sizes of media (126 x 96mm and 96 x 72mm) in both standard and self-laminating versions. The laminating media provides an extra barrier to protect the print from humidity, spills, finger marks and scratches. It also improves the appearance of the prints.

Colour adjustment
As well as the normal lighter/darker and RGB adjustment, the UP-25MD also features HSV, for more detailed image manipulation and correction. HSV (hue, saturation and value) will, for example, allow users to boost or reduce the intensity of a single colour, without affecting the overall colour balance of the image. Colour settings can be stored for later use.

User friendly controls and front loading
User controls and access for media replacement are available on the front panel, making it possible to fit the device into compact spaces, where only the front is visible.

Designed to fit on endoscopic trolleys
The footprint of the UP-25MD is optimised to allow installation on standard endoscopic trolleys. The feet supporting the printer are in exactly the same position as previous models, making it easy to upgrade.

Predictable print costs
Each print uses exactly the same quantity of ribbon and paper, so users can budget precisely for media costs. This also means that paper and print consumables are always changed at the same time, resulting in a major saving in maintenance tasks.

Delivering a compelling combination of compact convenience, superior image quality and low total-cost-of-ownership, the UP-DR80MD is the world's smallest A4 dye sublimation printer.

Superb Print Quality
Incorporating Sony's dye sublimation technology, the UP-DR80MD produces photo-quality prints. It also employs Sony's laminating technology, which coats each print with a protective layer that's resistant to light, heat, water, humidity, and fingerprints. This laminating technology allows the prints to be placed in long-term storage without fear of degradation. The UP-DR80MD can print onto two different sizes of paper: A4 (297 x 210 mm, 11 3/4 x 8 3/8 inches) and Letter (279 x 216 mm, 11 x 8.5 inches).

Stylish Design and Compact Size
The UP-DR80MD has a stylish design that fits perfectly with most medical environments. Its glossy white surface allows users to wipe it clean easily. Also, the compact body of the UP-DR80MD (approx. 317(W) x 207(H) x 425(D) mm (12 1/2 (W) x 8 1/8 (H) x 16 3/4 (D) inches) enables it to fit into both medical carts and constrained spaces.

Front Operation
The front-loading operation makes it easy to replace paper and ribbon, and allows the UP-DR80MD to be installed in even the tightest of spaces. This useful design feature also allows you to use the printer on-cart.

High-speed Printing
The UP-DR80MD operates at high speed. Printing an A4-sized image takes approximately 76 seconds

Easy Colour Adjustment
The UP-DR80MD offers easy colour adjustment via its printer driver property. This incorporates a preview image from which you can confirm and adjust images easily.

Colour Look Up Table
Two types of colour look up table are available to reproduce suitable colours for different modalities, such as endoscopy and ultrasounds. The default "Natural" setting creates a colour based on the s-RGB monitor, which is suitable for endoscopy images. For ultrasound images, a "CG" colour mode is available that reproduces more vivid colours. These settings are selectable via the printer property.

Gray Balance Adjustment
A Gray Balance Adjustment function allows you to easily select the colour that most closely matches your requirements and provides the most suitable tonal range for your application.
